Airstream Road Trip Quilt

Even as I pulled out fabrics for this project, long before it was born, I had a picture in my head of one of those vintage Airstream trailers that I’ve made whole Pinterest boards about, even though I will never own one. Like a little gnome hut, made of chrome, my fantasy Airstream was cherry red with lots of glossy oak finishes inside.

Into this Airstream dream, I poured in my memories of a cross country road trip that I took with some friends from our homes in California to our schools on the East Coast in the year 2000 in a GMC Jimmy. Red cliffs in Arizona, winding passes lined with wildflowers in Colorado, galloping horses in the plains, vending machine Oreos in cheap motels, and a weird juice drink that SoBe used to make called Diet Air.

This quilt would be at home on stationary bed in a room without wheels, too, of course. But it might cause you to dream of days on the road.

The Airstream Road Trip Quilt is for sale in the Handmade Shop.
