Philosophy

I began quilting a few years ago, when my children were very young. I read a David Sedaris essay around that time, and one particular quote really stuck with me. "Given enough time, anything can be beautiful. All it has to do is survive." That is exactly how I feel about my craft.

I love creating quilts and art with the newest fabric collections and with modern palettes, but I also love preserving and upcycling fabrics with a history, fabrics that have survived. Luckily, with modern keepsake quilts, I get to do both. With my colorful and quirky aesthetic, I turn your clothing artifacts into modern quilts that will live a new life in your home. Already infused with memories and history, they have survived, and will continue to do so as you create new memories with them.

Because I use bright, modern designer fabrics alongside your keepsake clothing fabrics, there is no need for you to preserve a truckload of clothing to produce one quilt in a functional size. I can stretch those precious few treasured baby clothes into a quilt that will continue to wrap your child in warmth through adulthood, or I can turn a small drawer of shirts from a loved one into a beautiful lap-size memory quilt that can continue to comfort you.
