Circle of Friends quilt

I don’t often make quilts that are intended for me to keep. Sometimes I fall in love with a quilt and keep it for myself, but there are only so many quilts that a family in Southern California needs in one house. But this is a bee quilt!
A couple years ago, I was part of a quilt bee with my guild; every member got one month as the Queen Bee, requesting a block to be made by each of the other bee members. I chose a block called Circle of Friends, and I requested that the circles be made of all one color. I made the center rainbow circle, and a few others to fill in some empty spots.
I also included most of the scrap fabrics for the bee members to use. I love the way the scrappy background gives a sparkly movement to the quilt!

These were fun easy quilt blocks to make, perfect for a group bee project. I could see changing up the colors to make an ombré set of circles or maybe a dark gray and black background, instead of light.
And it looks amazing in my living room.
